Pirkko Sirén Lawlor, LCCA
A native of Finland, Mrs. Lawlor began dance studies there in the Russian Method, achieving solist status. She performed and taught on the Chicago North Shore for thirty years, where she owned a private school in Lake Foerst, Illinois.
Also, for ten years she was concurrently on the faculty for Gus Giordano in his principal studio in Evanston. Pirkko is nationally recognized for the creation of superior teaching materials, master classes for seminars and conventions; her authorship and production of the nationally popular "A child's World of Dance with Pirkko" continues to be a mainstay in America. She has cofounded two Cecchetti Council of America teaching chapters, in Chicago and Central Florida, and she is a CCA National Examiner and teacher training specialist.
Since 1982, she has owned and directed the Ballet Conservatory Dance Centre in Winter Haven, Florida. In 2001, Pirkko selected the music and producesd the CD for the new Cecchetti Primary Work, now in distribution. In Central Florida she is in demand for teacher training founded in the Cecchetti Method.
